Greetings.
My name is Timothy Greiving. I love the cinema more than I ought, and I love writing probably just about as much as I should. I am not qualified to write movie reviews any more than the guy sitting next to you in the theater laughing at all the wrong stuff...but I'm going to do it anyway.
The goal of my reviews is simple. I will adroitly summarize the film (without revealing any surprises), succinctly give some moral content warnings (if necessary - and, let's face it, most often will be), and finally determine whether the film has any redeeming value.
This last criterion is the measure by which I try to judge films. It's painfully obvious how many movies are tainted with unfortunate immoral stains. But if a movie's sins are not gratuitous, not the driving force, and ultimately overshadowed by a good message or an important lesson - if, in short, it has some redeeming value - it will get my stamp of approval.
Disclaimer: The morality of content in movies is quite subjective. Violence has no moral bearing to one person, but is of the utmost importance to another. Language, and what even constitutes as "foul language," has no universal standard. I will try my best to address what will most benefit the wary moviegoer...but there will be some subjective decisions made in the end.
All that having been said, on with the show.
